Acro Dance


The acrobatics classes teach students the acrobatic elements that are required for an acrobatic dance routine.  This class is focussed on the technical aspects of acrobatics, not dance routines.

A range of fundamental acrobatic skills are taught including basic tumbling skills, handstands, forward and backward rolls, cartwheels, round offs and handsprings.  Students are then able to progress to advanced skills such as walkovers, front and back somersaults, back flips and aerials.

Developmental work in strength, coordination, balance, body posture and flexibility are also a focus in this class to ensure the body is capable of these skills and to assist in building confidence in the body’s abilities. Students are encouraged to  progress at their own pace in a safe and fun environment.

Acrobatics is becoming increasing popular in amateur competitive dance as well as in professional dance theatre and in contemporary circus productions such as those by Cirque du Soleil.

Excellent dance experience with stepping out studios. Ms May is super enthu, warm and approachable. She always makes the class fun and enjoyable! :D Highly recommendable!
